The aroma of vanilla wafted around our stand and the people frequently commented on it – we (the team) basked in it all day.
We arrived on Friday and set about creating our vanilla heaven amongst the frenzy of activity with speakers, chefs, media and important guests.
Saturday morning we were up bright and early ready to welcome foodies to the world of Broken Nose Vanilla. In photo: Billie (youngest daughter), Sam (eldest daughter), me and our lovely French guest, Camille. We were swamped with interest from vanilla virgins to vanilla addicts. Lots of customers from previous years came back to stock up on vanilla plus all the people keen to learn about our farm. The weather set in a little on Saturday afternoon which gave us a chance to catch a breath and check out the other stalls.
Our radio spot with Rebecca (standing in for Coxy on 630 ABC) sparked interest with people on their way in on Sunday morning. Sunday turned out to be a wonderful day – the weather improved and hordes of people came out to enjoy the atmosphere and savour the gorgeous treats on offer. We ended the weekend by almost selling out of all our products!
Regional Flavours is one of the highlights of our year and we left with a smile – keen to head home, put our feet up and settle in with a vanilla tea.
