Nucifora Tea
Nucifora Tea is a delightful full-bodied smooth black tea grown outside Innisfail in the Wet Tropics of Far North Queensland in Australia. The Nuciforas have been growing tea in the rich agriculture district of Palmerston for more than 15 years. They only harvest the tender young tips of the plants, which produces top quality tea.
Nucifora Tea is grown without pesticides or herbicides in a tropical paradise. With pasture land stretching from the eastern fringe of coastal forests on the Coral Sea to the Atherton Tablelands to the west, this is a very special place.
Skybury Coffee
Ian and Marion MacLaughlin, share a passion for things Australian and a deep connection to the land. They bought the Skybury coffee plantation on the Atherton Tableland in 1987. The 300 acre property perched right at the apex of the Great Dividing Range enjoys 360 degree views, and has now diversified into papaya, other exotic fruits and, naturally, there’s the coffee.
Skybury has created a unique coffee wet processing which highlights the great taste of Skybury Coffee. Having one of the world’s most sophisticated processing facilities, they can ‘shape’ the flavour of their coffee and achieve taste profile elements found in other processing styles, or create their own uniquely Australian style. They leave a small amount of mucilage on the beans by interrupting the fermentation process. Fermentation is followed by a high speed wash which locks in flavour and allows the bean to absorb the remaining mucilage, so when the coffee is roasted, the mucilage ‘caramilises’ and releases a sweet, chocolately flavour – perfect for blending with vanilla!
Mena Creek Honey
Mena Creek is about 50kms to the south of the Broken Nose plantation. Hives in the area provide a locally sourced honey based on harvest from seasonal rainforest plants – a rich, sweet and unique flavour.
